Woah. Internet Friends vs. IRL Friends part two!
I wrote earlier this year about the differences and the similarities in online friends and in real life friends.
I feel like just now, all of a sudden, I'm having a change of heart.
How is it easier to keep up with our online friends than our real life friends?!! There's something about the fact that we all share our good, bad, and ugly with each other that makes this community so unique. (The downside is that we only share some of all those things...what the hey - from now on, let's share them all!)
We spill our guts. Weekly, if not daily. We have online communities and Facebook groups and hashtags that connect us.
I don't know about you, but I feel united with other active-online women. I feel this bond and this silent understanding. I'm not saying I don't have real life friends. They just don't all share the same. And real life makes it hard to stay connected. We get so wrapped up in meetings and activities and sports and craziness that consumes our lives.
Y'all. I thrive on community. Online and in real life. I just need to figure out how to put the raw honesty from online into my real life relationships.
HEY. WE ALL MAKE SMALL TALK AND PRETEND TO DO LIFE TOGETHER BUT WE DON'T. (What? We really don't.)
But really. I like knowing about the day to day. I like the ups and downs. The good and the bad. Share it with me.
You are loved. Online and in real life.
Love,
Jessica
