Favorites with My Favorites: Blonde Edition - Kelly Packer

Image
As I stated in Favorites with My Favorites: Blonde Edition with Casey and Laura , I love having blonde hair. I gravitate towards people with gorgeous hair of any color, but when I find a fellow bright-haired lady, I can't resist the adoration that forms!! Again, if you've read this blog for any amount of time, you know that I'm a self-proclaimed people-hoarder when it comes to social media. One day several weeks ago, I was scrolling through my Instagram feed, and I catch a glimpse of Kelly Packer . I don't even know how long I have been following her, but I do know that I think she is radiant and stunning! On the day I happened to see her post , it was referring to her new music video. I hurried over to watch it, and I'm OBSESSED. Such a fun, dance-y, summer time jam. (You can watch it here !) As with most people, I was certain we had to be friends! If you recall, the way I love to get to know people is by finding out all about their favorite th

Getting to Know You (MSWB Link-up!)

1. Are you a morning or night person?  I'd much rather stay up late than wake up early. However, I do require about as much sleep as an infant, so I don't make a habit of being up too late on work nights! 2. Are you a collector of anything?  Hmm...books and movies. White animals decorate our home. Pens and journals. Magazines (though I've downsized and just kept articles instead of entire issues!). 3. If you were given 1 million dollars, what do you do with it?  Pay off all the debt we owe. Take my family and best friends to Disney. Build our dream home. 4. What is your worst pet peeve?  People who can't drive . 5. What is the best thing about your hometown? (Psst…we’d love to hear all about it in a guest post for August’s “Local Flavor” theme.)  I love Clinton!!!! It's small, but it has enough amenities that I don't feel like we live in the country. I've started a hashtag so that I can share my hometown with the girls in my Influence Network

Blog Tour!

Image
When my friend Charity asked if I wanted to be a part of this blog tour, I agreed quickly!  Not only was I eager to connect with other bloggers, I was excited to answer questions and share my thoughts. Plus, I adore Charity. She's the first online friend I got to meet in real life . She is a beautiful, grace-giving, joy-overflowing wife and mom of four. She's amazing. Be sure to check out her blog!! 1. What am I working on?  I'm working on my blog. And two stories that I hope become books. I'm a dreamer. And a writer. Words are my jam. Besides that? My day job and my marriage. Our home - we rent, so we're still trying to make it our own. 2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?  I'm still trying to find my genre and niche, honestly. I think we just each have our own stories to tell and our own ways to tell them. So, it's mine. That's how it's different. 3. Why do I write/create what I do?  I love to write and share. Som

St. Louis (day three)

Image
This post is super picture-heavy! Day three was a day of shopping, meeting, eating, and fun! (Day four was spent in the car coming home, so there is no post for that!) My sister is now a mini-fashionista, which I LOVE! We went to the St. Louis Galleria - ahhhhhh-mazing.   The first three snaps are from Nordstrom! Totally wish we had one closer to us. At lunch time, my family went to Cheesecake Factory, and I met my friend, Charity , at Panera Bread! Charity is in my community group through the Influence Network, and she was my first online friend to meet in real life. It. Was. Amazing.  :) After lunch, I spent time browsing the Disney Store for meg followell's third birthday party gift! (I wanted to buy her everything. The final gift choice is not pictured here, so no spoilers!) We left the mall and headed for another part of the city! They have their own walk of fame, so it was cool to see for sure. We w

St. Louis (day two)

St. Louis, day two, was filled to the brim with fun! We started our day at Grant's Farm. (This is also FREE (minus the pictures we bought). Y'all. The Lou has a lot to offer!) (The filter feature accidentally got turned on, so we're a little green!) (A baby!!!)   Clydesdale selfie, duh. LIFE HIGHLIGHT. I love goats. I'd already asked Jordan for years if we could have a pet goat.  But this...this basically sealed the deal! We got to bottle feed them! SWEET goats. So fun!   Paddleboats are a great idea, right? Sure. If you're in shape and like to sweat in the hot sun. :) It was a super fun(ny) experience, though!! After Grant's Farm, we ventured over the state line and into Illinois. It was my first time in IL ever! We went to Eckert's! They have a HUGE farm and grocery...AND one of my new favorite restaurants on the planet. This peach blackberry cobbler was one for

St. Louis (day one)

When my parents and sister started discussing their trip to St. Louis, I remembered going there when I was between 12 and 13. Then, my friend Charity from my Influence Network community group posted something on Facebook, and her location was St. Louis! I knew I had to go! It was my first chance to meet an online friend in real life.  We were supposed to be going to Nashville this coming weekend, but schedules got busy, and we had to cancel the trip. It was a perfect opportunity to go to St. Louis instead! Despite an intense panic attack the day before we were leaving, and having to leave at 4:00 a.m., I still went. I'm glad I did.  We stopped in Sikeston, MO, for Lambert's! (I've now been to all three locations!) Best. Rolls. Ever.  Once we made it to St. Louis, we went to the Budweiser plant! Even for a non-drinker, it's a really fun tour! Best part? It's FREE! Chandelier in the Clydesdales' stable. I mean....fancy! The first day was a lot of fun. So thankful
