New Year's Resolution (Big Kid Version)

Normally I keep my New Year’s Resolutions to myself, but this year I have decided to share in order to submit myself to a sense of accountability. I think it’s time I start making age appropriate resolutions. I am on the cliff of being a big kid, therefore it is time that my resolutions reflect that as well as the things I place an importance on in my life.  So this year instead of get fake boobs, marry Ian Somerhalder, and loose 50 pounds I have decided to take my New Year’s resolutions a little more serious and let’s be honest attainable .             In the past, I have developed a “hands off” approach to communication. I have remained adamant about this rule for various reasons like…..people stink, they carry germs, and it can be awkward. BUT I have decided to withdrawal this approach for year 2013. 1. I will accept and give hugs. But let’s not get crazy.  I have just learned at my inability to show affection has at times been a barrier . 1(

To Keep Or Not To Keep????

Every year we get a second chance to make a name for our generation. Therefore, with 2013 only a few days away, it is time to clarify a few things I think (and I hope you do too) should be left in 2012.   Like.. 1.      “YOLO” this is French for I don’t have a game plan. Just kidding, as if you did not already know it stands for You Only Live Once. I mean let’s get real. Prior to this trending confirmation that we only have once life, did anyone really think we lived twice? This is precisely the reason the rest of the world thinks Americans have lost their marbles. 2.      Teen Moms : In the abridged words of Smokey the Bear “Only you can prevent the continuation of this train wreck.” If this you had not already considered this yourself, the final straw should have been when Jenelle Evans picked a Ke$ha concert over staying out of jail. As law school has taught me… res ipsa loquitur “the thing speaks for itself.”  And in this case the thing speaks for st

2012: a quick recap

Y'all, it's hard to try and recap an entire, amazing, event-filled year in a blog. Especially quickly. But I'm about to try. (Also, almost all these pictures are from Facebook, since I'm using my sweet husband's computer. Take it or leave it, folks.) January 2012: Katelyn and I attend our second WWE event together. (Technically, it was the first one we actually went inside for! HAH!) We love fashion and beauty and ruffles and pearls, but we also love (and I mean love ) some wrestling! Hahaha. Don't worry - not everyone expects it...or understands. We met several superstars, our favorite being John the ref Cone! February 2012: I finally got an iPhone. I know, I know. It isn't THAT big of a deal. Except I finally got instagram....just before it was released for andriod. Hahah. Typical. Also, I read this in Glamour. It was the second time I'd heard/read/seen it in a short remained a constant thought in 2012, and I'm carrying it on

Our Christmas Traditions

So do you and your family have any Christmas traditions? If not, it’s okay. Not every family does, but starting a new family tradition of your own could be a lot of fun!  It’s a great way to gather the family during the busy Christmas season. It doesn't have to be fancy, just something that brings your family together every year for the purpose of making memories. If you need a few ideas, a couple of the Magnolias want to share a few of their own secret, family traditions. Katelyn: “Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more.”              On Christmas Eve, my family watches “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “The Grinch” (the original cartoon).  While we watch we always eat chips and rotel dip. Ahhh, the moment Linus begins give his speech about the true meaning of Christmas is possibly my favorite moment of the entire Christmas season. But once the last line of  “
