Movies to see {Volume 2}
Good morning, loves! It's May 14, and I'm just now getting around to writing my second volume of movies-to-see! This list will cover May-August releases. First, let's talk about my January-April list and what I was able to cross off!
I'm happy to report that I was able to see quite a few movies in the first four months of the year! I was able to see four of the five on my first list, and I saw at least two that I hadn't listed. I saw Selma, The Duff, Insurgent, Cinderella, The Age of Adaline, and Furious 7. Furious 7 took the most prep time since Jordan and I bought and watched 1-6 first! All six of the movies were as wonderful as I had hoped they would be. I didn't get to see The Longest Ride, so I'm anxiously awaiting the home release!
Now, I assumed (first problem!) that since I wanted to see so many movies in the first part of the year that the summer season may be a box-office bust. From the list I've compiled for May-August, it looks like I was wrong. Sigh. Grab some coffee...or popcorn, and let's get started!
(Since I'm later posting this than I meant to be, I've already seen Avengers: Age of Ultron. Trust me when I say RUN! Don't walk. You won't regret it. The only wish I had was that I had seen even more of the Marvel movies so I would have caught all the jokes. Such a good cast though. Can't wait to watch more!)
Let's see what movies May has to offer:
Avengers: Age of Ultron (5/1) - SO GOOD! Chris Hemsworth AND an Olsen?!?!
Hot Pursuit (5/8) - Dying to see this because I'm a huge Reese fan! Plus, my favorite reviewer, Ryan Jay, gave a glowing report of it!
Pitch Perfect 2 (5/15) - Seeing this tomorrow night after my birthday party! I can't wait because the cast is Aca-wesome!
Mad Max (5/15) - I'm still trying to decide if I want to see this! Jordan definitely does, and Charlize makes it look like something I just can't miss. We'll see!
Tomorrowland (5/22) - I CAN'T WAIT. Britt Robertson has been a favorite of mine since she was on the CW's Life UnExpected (which was cancelled way too soon).
Aloha (5/29) - The last in this looks incredible! Emma Stone. Rachel McAdams. Bradley Cooper. I'll see you there.
June's offerings:
Jurassic World (6/2) - I'm putting this on the list because Jordan loves Jurassic Park, but I'm not sure if we'll actually be seeing it. Jordan isn't sure that it will live up to what he hopes it will be. Will you be seeing this?
Inside Out (6/19) - Disney Pixar = I'll definitely be seeing it. Also, it looks amazing and thought provoking and heart tugging. I can't wait to see what goes on inside my body/mind/heart.
Dope (6/19) - I can't miss this one! From the time I saw the first preview, I knew it would be something I had to see. Plus. Zoe Kravitz. I'm such a fan.
July's movies on tap:
Terminator Genisys (7/1) - The single reason this is on my list is because of my obsession with Jai Courtney. He played a villain in Divergent and Insurgent, and I'm eager to see him be a good guy!
Ant-Man (7/17) - Again, Marvel. Yes. The trailer looks fabulous!!!!
Mr. Holmes (7/17) - I haven't seen a preview for this, but I enjoy Sherlock Holmes and Ian McKellen. I feel like this will be a good one - that is, if it releases nationwide.
Paper Towns (7/24) - John Green. Cara Delevingne. SO MUCH YES. I'm hoping to carve out some time to read the book before I see the movie.
Vacation (7/29) - I apologize in advance for the crude humor in the preview, but I laughed SO LOUD every single time I watched it. I don't know if it will live up to the hype of its predecessor films, but it looks good enough to me!
August's watch list:
Fantastic Four (8/7) - I'm sure we'll be seeing this! Remember? Marvel. :)
Dark Places (8/7) - I haven't seen a preview, and I may change my mind when I do, but the cast list makes this appealing to me. Christina Hendricks, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Charlize Theron are all in this! However, it may be a bit scary/suspenseful for my taste! I'm eager for more information.
So, who's up for a movie date or four with their favorite magnolia? Hmm? :)
You are SO loved,
Jessica
